Claire Flavell – ABICS Co-ordinator

Claire originally started with us in June 2009 as the Outreach Worker but from August 2011 became the Co-ordinator of the ABICS service.

Claire is currently studying a Level 5 QCF in Leadership & Management in Care with a view to becoming the Registered Manager for the ABICS service in future. She has worked with people who have an ABI for over three years and has worked in a caring role since 1991.

Claire line manages all of the ABICS team and the Outreach Worker.

Emily Cooper – ABICS Admin Assistant

Emily Cooper – ABICS Administrator

Emily started with us in December 2010. She has over 5 years experience working in an admin role, an NVQ 2 in business and a degree in both Forensic Science and Classical Literature along with an MA in Classics.

Emily produces staff and client rotas, care plans and also covers our on call telephone line for emergencies. She is keen to gain more of an insight into Acquired Brain Injury and will soon be attending one of Headway UK's training courses on ABI.

Jamie Bailey - Community Support Worker 

Jamie started with us in February 2011 and has now finished his induction training. Jamie has had some major break throughs with some of the clients he works with and also has organised and run his own fundraising events for Headway Shropshire in his spare time.

He currently holds a certificate in first aid, professional boundaries, moving and handling, epilepsy and adult protection awareness.

Leanna Corsentino – Community Support Worker

Leanna Corsentino – Community Support Worker

Leanna started with us in July 2010. She has experience of providing respite care, holds a degree in Biology and is keen to gain more experience and knowledge about disabilities and ABI. She moved up to full time hours shortly after starting with us and enjoys supporting our clients to become more independant in their own homes.

Leanna holds certificates in Moving and Handling, Infection Control and Equality & Diversity.

Laura Dwyer – Community Support Worker

Laura Dwyer – Community Support Worker

Laura was transferred to us in January 2010 as she provided 24 hour support to a client who moved over to Headway Shropshire from a previous care provider.

Laura has worked in a support role for seven years and since working for us has started her NVQ 2 in Care.

Laura holds certificates in infection control, safe handling of medicines, moving and handling, epilepsy and personal care skills.

Susann Howell - Community Support Worker

Starting in February 2010 Susann moved quickly in March from a part time to a full time position within the company in the administration department.

Susann has recently moved over to ABICS as a Community Support Worker and has finished her induction and shadowing. She is committed to supporting our clients to become more independant and will shortly be attending our specialised ABI training course by Headway UK.

Jennifer Jones – Community Support Worker

Jennifer Jones – Community Support Worker

Jen started with us in August 2009 and is on a full time contract. She has seventeen years experience in a support role and holds a BTEC National Diploma in Social Care and Health studies.

Jen holds certificates in Infection control and MAPA.

Jen is studying towards an NVQ in Health and Social Care.

John Pacaud – Community Support Worker

John started with us in August 2010 and recently moved over from Day Opportunities to become a member of the ABICS team. Before becoming a member of staff, John volunteered in our Day Opportunities for six months gaining the experience and skills required.

Since being with us John has undertaken training in Infection Control and Emergency First Aid at Work to name a few. 

 

Sabrina Roberts – Community Support Worker 

Starting with us in March 2011, Sabrina comes from a background working in childcare with nearly 5 years experience as a Residential Worker. She is qualified to NVQ 3 level in both Counselling & Psychotherapy and Health and Social Care for Children and Young People.

Sabrina will mainly be working with one client but will also be out in the community providing relief support for the rest of the team.
