Debbie Wilcox – Deputy Day Opportunities Manager

Debbie Wilcox – Day Opportunities Manager

Debbie started with us as a Support Worker in May 2008 and progressed up to Senior Support Worker and then Day Opportunities Manager in March 2011. She has an NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care and has a certificate in Performance Management and Food Hygiene.

Debbie has worked in Nursing homes and Community Centres for over 26 years and has extensive experience of working with people who have disabilities and emotional problems.

Lee Tiernan – Support Worker

Lee Tiernan – Deputy Day Opportunities Manager

Lee started in June 2005 with a background in mental health nursing and has 29 years experience in a support role.

Lee works closely with Day Opportunities clients to work on their cognitive work books, is responsible for client behavioural risk assessments and deputising for the Day Opportunities Manager in their absence.

Lee holds certificates in Community Care, Infection Control, Communication and Disability and has an NVQ level 3 in in Care. 

Harriet Beardsley - Support Worker


Starting with us in July 2011, Harriet is one of our newest members of the team. She studied and completed a Level 2 in Health & Social Care at Radbrook College before coming to work with us and is keen to develop her skills further. Since starting with us she has completed training in First Aid, Moving and Handling and Equality & Diversity.

 

Susan Edwards – Support Worker

 Susan started with us in  September 2011 as a Floating Support Worker for the ABICS and Day Opportunities services. However, after a short time her skills in the Day Opportunities were most needed and she became a permenant member of the Day Opportunities Team.

Susan holds certificates in Epilepsy Awareness and First Aid.

Sarah MacBeth – Support Worker

Sarah MacBeth – Support Worker

Sarah has worked with us since September 2009 and has worked in a support role for six years. Sarah is very creative and previously ran felt making workshops. Sarah puts these creative skills to use in our craft room working alongside our clients making cards and other creative projects.

Sarah has undertaken many training courses including Epilepsy, Stroke Awareness and Rehabilitation Issues.

Louise Mills – Support Worker

Louise Mills – Support Worker

Louise has worked in a support role from 1995 and started with us in May 2009. She holds a Level 2 NVQ in Care & Education and further certificates in Challenging Behaviour and Makaton Sign Language.

Since working for us Louise has acheived her NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care and has attended various courses that support her work with ABI clients such as Epilepsy, MAPA and Caring for People Affected by Stroke.

Alison Rogers - Support Worker

Alison Rogers - Support Worker

Alison has worked for us since June 2010 and is a well known member of the team as she volunteered in the Day Opportunities before she went for the position of Support Worker.

Alison has many years of experience working with people who have a disability and fundraising for charitable organisations.

Michael Stickley – Support Worker

Michael started in April 2011 and is a well known member of the team having volunteered in Day Opportunities for the last 6 months.

Michael has a diploma in General Counselling and a level 3 Counselling Skills certificate.  Michael is currently taking a degree in Counselling.
