Sponsored Bike Ride

Kaine, a Client at Headway Shropshire, is very keen to raise money for us. When Kaine originally decided that he wanted to help raise funds he had a number of ideas & it took some time to decide upon which one would be best for him. However Kaine finally decided upon a sponsored bike ride, as cycling is something he has become very enthusiastic about & has also gained a lot of skill in. So on the 30th July 2011 Kaine will attempt to complete a 6 hour bike ride.  Kaine will be accompained by a Care Worker provided by Adelphi Independent Living (who also provide care & support to Kaine) they will ensure that Kaine is fully supported & ensure most importantly his safety during this event. We are very proud that Kaine wishes to do this for us & we wish him luck for the event. We will update you on Kaines journey when we have news.

 

Sponsored Head Shave

Phil, a Client at Headway Shropshire feels very strongly about raising money for the charity because, as he told me, he sees it as a way 'to give something back for all that Headway Shropshire have & keep doing for me & everyone else here' We are proud that Phil feels so strongly about raising money for us in order to help others. Phil has decided upon a sponsored head shave and has so far raised nearly a £150. A date for the event has not been finally set yet but is likely to take place in August.

 

Sponsored Parachute Jump

Update to the parachute jump due to administrative oversight at the Parachute Centre the date of the jump has now been changed to the 27th August 2011. So this is now the date Claire and Erika will boldly be stepping off a plane (with a parachute) all in the aid of Headway Shropshire. They are aiming to raise over £1000 to promote awareness of Acquired Brain Injury and provide support to those who need it most.

Headway Shropshire present Elvis

Headway Shropshire are delighted to have secured an evening with Elvis & not just any Elvis Tribute Act but one of the best on the UK touring circuit, Shayne Prince.

Shayne’s career first took off, January 30th 2004 when he appeared on BBC1 Wales performing the Elvis song ‘Always On My Mind’. Picked from entries of over 1300 wannabes throughout Wales and three auditions later, Shayne made it through to the finals and sang to a live audience which was televised around the world. Shayne was then approached by dA records of Penarth, South Wales, who featured him on a cd based on the songs and artists of the show and was interviewed on Radio Wales in relation to the show that same month. From there on Shayne has gained a huge fan base & has now appeared on the BBC several times. He has been a finalist & winner in numerous competitions & even entered 'The Ultimate Elvis Competition' held by no less than 'Graceland Estates' where he made it through to the finals. Shayne was then asked to audition for the BBC in London for their televised show 'The World's Greatest Elvis' Shayne made it through as one of the 30 finalists & performed in the televised show, hosted by Vernon Kaye.

We are so pleased that Shayne has agreed to sing for us & hope that you will join us for what promises to be an amazing event on 19th August 2011 at the Power League, Otley Road, Shrewsbury, SY2 6ST. Tickets are an amazing £5 for Headway Shropshire members & £6 for none members. Headway Shropshire Summer Buffet

Headway Shropshire would like to invite all Headway Shropshire members to our Summer Buffet. There is no charge for this event, its just a chance for food, fun & meeting of old & new friends to celebrate another year of Headway Shropshire.

In order for us to cater for all who attend we would ask that you advise us if you are attending, your name & how many there will be in your group. Also please advise if you have any special dietary requirements.
