Frequently Asked Questions

Does Headway Shropshire offer student placements?

Headway Shropshire is developing placement opportunities where there is a clear learning fit, appropriate supervision and enough capacity to provide a good experience. Availability depends on the course, placement requirements and timing.

Which courses or professions may be suitable?

Student placements can be relevant to a much wider range of courses than health and social care.

As well as health, social care, psychology, therapy, community and education-related courses, we may also be able to offer placements linked to areas such as business administration, office management, marketing, communications, social media, content creation, photography or video, events, fundraising, community engagement, digital skills and activity delivery.

Depending on the placement, students might support with things like office and administration work, marketing projects, creating content, helping with events, supporting activities at the Headway Hub, digital sessions, community engagement or developing resources.

Each placement is considered individually to make sure there is a meaningful role for the student and that we can meet the learning outcomes, supervision requirements and any safeguarding or practical needs.

If you’re not sure whether your course would fit, get in touch anyway — we’re happy to think creatively about how a placement could work.
